Liberal MP Bruce Fanjoy from the Ottawa-area riding or Carleton is breaking ranks with the Carney government on its Return to Office policy for public servants:

“There is little to no evidence that a one-size-fits-all RTO policy will improve productivity or service to Canadians”

Hello @helps.octranspo.com, I'm an Ottawa City Councillor. I'd like to know whether this issue has been actioned, as you say it has. I've been at this bus stop, and the 82 does not appear on the electronic board. I'd appreciate a BlueSky response, and I'll send this same request by email.

Two things I’m not sure is widely understood:

1. Many public servants no longer have their own desks and work in transient government co-working spaces

2. Many describe a Kafkaesque existence of going to physical offices only to spend their time on video calls with the people sitting next to them

I understand why non-public servants in Ottawa are rolling their eyes at public servant complaints about the return to office mandate.

But as Luke points out, what is the point of going to a building where you have no office and are spending the entire time on MS teams video calls?

It's ludicrous.

It seems that Elections Canada didn’t send enough voting booths to advance polls — the one at McNabb only had one. This is contributing to the long lines.

Remember: be kind to poll workers, it’s not their fault! Direct your feedback to Elections Canada.

After the debate, I can say that all I saw was Pierre complaining about the past, Trudeau and carbon tax. Carney was focused on the future, rebuilding our economy, forging ahead with new trading partners. I will be casting my vote for Liberals tomorrow because Canada needs Mark Carney for a future.🇨🇦

Journalists once legitimized Rebel news. We need to look in the mirror and be answerable for how we contributed to last night’s debate debacle. Read @caj defence of them. The Rebel and ilk were the same right wing agitators then as they are today.

Poilievre waxed on about crime in cities, citizens terrorized, feeling unsafe in their homes-blah blah

He had NO concern during the 3 week siege in Ottawa that shut down trade & terrorized citizens😠

This is reportedly making the lines at the polls even longer in Carleton, because they have to fold this giant ballot a special way.

Truly stupid tactic, @longestballot.bsky.social. Especially in a riding that could have a significant impact on our country’s future. You’ve made it harder to vote.

In case you were still wondering if Pierre Poilievre is MAGA/Trump, read this.

This is an EXTREMELY Trump thing to do.

And he’s getting global attention for saying he’s going to do it.

This is worse than the science-muzzling Harper did.

And Poilievre will go a LOT farther than this.

Pundits in Canada are noting that most of Mark Carney’s big poll bump hasn’t come from Pierre Poilievre’s supporters — it’s come from NDP/Jagmeet Singh supporters. So they’re observing that what Poilievre needs to win is for Singh, who stands no chance of winning, to start doing better.
