The ministers’ comments and attitude represent a stunning disconnect from the forests themselves, which are living, breathing ecosystems that should be treated with honour and respect, not as mass commodities for the benefit of the biggest corporations on earth.

Red cedar is extremely valuable, and that which grows in non-renewable old-growth forests should be left there, and red cedar from second growth forests should be put to better use, locally, not be used to build shitty union-busting coffee shops on the other side of the Pacific.

Were you upfront with potential new partners that B.C. continues to permit the destruction of non-renewable old-growth forests, including in the most at-risk stands the B.C. NDP government promised to set aside, including in violation of several federal endangered species recovery plans? Or nah?

The Columbia North, Wells Gray & Groundhog herds have the best chance of recovery.

Their future depends on the preservation of the #oldgrowth forests that they rely on for food and shelter.

Take action - tell the B.C. gov to stop logging #caribou 👇

No more logging permits on caribou habitat!
Turn up the pressure to stop the destruction of endangered caribou habitat at risk from logging approvals in B.C.
