While the B.C. and Canadian governments have emphasized the Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government’s stake in the Ksi Lisims project, documents filed with the B.C. government show the primary owner and operator of Ksi Lisims is Texas-based Western LNG.

The northern spotted owl, a striking medium-sized owl with distinctive dark-brown eyes, is the most critically endangered species in Canada.

Unfortunately, industrial logging destroyed the owl's #oldgrowth forest habitat. Only a single wild-born #spottedowl remains today.

The main culprit is heat. Abnormally warm waters — both at the surface and down below — helped Melissa gain strength, even as it took a leisurely path that in a normal world would likely lead its power to wane.
