2025 has not been a good year for the climate 😵‍💫

Across Canada, governments are rolling back environmental protections, using U.S. tariffs as an excuse.

The only real path forward? Ending #fossilfuel dependence and rapidly building a renewable energy future.

We have a special present for B.C. Forest Minister, Ravi Parmar 🎁

This week, our volunteers got crafty with cards that call out Minister Parmar's misleading claims about #oldgrowth logging and demand real action to protect these irreplaceable forests.

Look who we found on this winter-wonderland day! It's concerned specialist Dennis Leneveu! Dennis has showed up with his expertise to help fight Sio Silica's sand mine since the very beginning... and you can still help!

HAPPENING TODAY 🎨 Arts & crafts for old-growth!

Minister of Forests (Ravi Parmar) is hosting a holiday card contest. Why not give him exactly what he asked for… with a little festive flair 😉 🎄

Sio Silica is back with a whole "new" proposal and the same old bad attitude, having ignored or denied all 3 things the Clean Environment Commission said they needed to move forward. How arrogant can you get?

Seven insect species are found nowhere in the world — except in South Okanagan and the Similkameen Valleys.

This ecosystem is home to unique #biodiversity. But it is also one of the most endangered #ecosystems in Canada.

Goldstream is a vital spawning ground for #salmon and home to countless other species. If the Malahat highway expansion is approved, their critical habitat will be destroyed.

Fracking companies extract a staggering amount of freshwater from local lakes and rivers, which is mixed with harmful chemicals to create frac fluid.

This poisonous water can seep into aquifers, causing lasting pollution.

The BC NDP must be held accountable for breaking their promises to protect #oldgrowth and primary forests.

Today, we joined people all across B.C. to call for the protection of these ancient forests 🌲🌲🌲

Since Manitobans elected a new government in 2023, we’ve seen an INCREASE in the number of mining claims in provincial parks.

The northern spotted owl, a striking medium-sized owl with distinctive dark-brown eyes, is the most critically endangered species in Canada.

Unfortunately, industrial logging destroyed the owl's #oldgrowth forest habitat. Only a single wild-born #spottedowl remains today.

Thousands of southern mountain caribou once roamed the temperate rainforests in B.C. 🫎

Today, multiple herds have already disappeared, and many more are quickly reaching that same fate. Despite being a species at risk, the B.C. gov continues to clear swaths of #caribou habitat. #oldgrowth

The BC government claims that the North Coast Transmission Line is for national and public interest, but that doesn't sound right.

What would an actual plan for the public interest look like?

Old-growth forests are more than just trees; they are entire ecosystems. Plants, animals, fungi and other living things all rely on these ancient giants to live.

When #oldgrowth trees are logged, it's more than just a tree that's lost; it's an entire #ecosystem.

Southern Mountain #Caribou are at-risk of extinction, with several herds now extripated (locally extinct).

To top it off, our recent research found that thousands of hectares of old-growth forests are either approved or pending approval for logging across the range of endangered herds. #bcpoli

🎃 Looking for last minute costume ideas? We think Doug Ford’s recent axe cuts to protections for species at risk are downright terrifying. 😱
Why not dress as 1 of the 106 vulnerable species that had their protections slashed?
