white South African conservatives were sympathetic to Hitler in the 40s and the far right there is explicitly neo-Nazi. the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging party that attempted to preserve apartheid with terrorism in the 90s has a three-pointed swastika emblem and was led by a guy who imitated Hitler
imo right to note that the current GOP is the ideological heir to the Jim Crow south, which in turn was the ideological heir of the Confederacy, and that these are better touchstones than Nazi Germany. that said, Musk is clearly a product of South African apartheid and they do all seem to be Nazis

When Clarence Thomas joined the exclusive Horatio Alger Association, he granted the conservative group unusual access to the Supreme Court.

The New York Times reports that Thomas has received benefits — many of them previously unreported — from a broader cohort of wealthy & powerful friends
Where Clarence Thomas Entered an Elite Circle and Opened a Door to the Court
The exclusive Horatio Alger Association brought the justice access to wealthy members and unreported V.I.P. treatment. He, in turn, offered another kind of access.

Threads isn’t launching in countries that have privacy laws respecting user consent and control of their own personal information and communications. Not sure what else there is to say.

The biggest conceptual problem with Threads so far is that there’s a reason why I follow some people on IG and not on Twitter
