In a recent post, I mentioned that water - especially floodwater following Hurricane Melissa - harbours dangers. These dangers include disease. The Ministry of Health and Wellness held a press briefing today (November 21, 2025) to announce that there is an outbreak of leptospirosis on the island. Health Minister Christopher Tufton announced that nine cases have been confirmed, while 28 suspected or probable cases have been reported from October 30 to November 20, adding up to 37 cases.
