I think the answer to this legacy limitation of our built environment is what @qagggy.bsky.social is trying to get done in Queen Anne. Block pedestrianization of side streets in neighborhood centers.

Townhomes have really opened up home ownership affordability to a large chunk of Seattle’s young professionals, but stacked flats offer the potential to expand home ownership affordability to even more Seattleites.

For sure. My dream is that someday they’ll redo the I-90 ramps as two normal 4-Way intersections helping to improve the connectedness of Rainier north and south of I-90.

Drop-off could be fully implemented curbside in the Public ROW on 5th Ave. We don't need to dedicate acreage to drop-offs/pick-ups at a low ridership station.

Even when you site stations along interstates, while less than desirable, you can still drive good surrounding urban form. The Judkins Park station is a decent example of this in the new construction and discussed infrastructure changes we're seeing nearby.

The Skinker-DeBaliviere station in St. Louis had one (much smaller). Just a waste of space.

Yeah, and I think Republicans losing this bad probably tells them it’s too late to abandon MAGA and recuperate their image even if they wanted to. So Trump is probably more likely to get full buy-in. They pretty much already are, but I think this entrenches it.
