Here’s another parcel that is park land but would be much better used for Social Housing development. Could add maybe 500 or so units here on city owned land. As park space, the only use it gets is people biking through. Could still preserve that. Even closer to Judkins Park Station.

Seattle’s I-42 is probably a really good thing most of the time, but there are a few plots of land around I-90 where I wish it didn’t exist.

This is largely unused park land that would be much better repurposed as land for social housing. I-42 makes this next to impossible.

The built history of the Mount Carmel Orphanage, later named Sacred Heart Villa, lives on in Northeast Seattle - a site Mother Cabrini says that she saw in a dream.

Mother Cabrini’s first Seattle institution, the Mount Carmel Mission on Beacon Hill where I-90 crosses under 12th Ave S today.

Built in 1903, it lasted just 7 years before it was demolished during the Dearborn Street Regrade.

Actually makes it quite a bit better! The Tahoma Valley Apartments on Rainier and Grand are going to include a year round pop-up incubator for retail called Launch Point. Can’t wait!

Vietnamese Martyrs Parish (new construction) among the big box stores and office parks in Tukwila is crazy to see in person

This lot is for sale on Beacon Hill for $420k. To build a single family home, looking at a price tag over $1M all-in.

To build 7 3 bed/1168 sq ft stacked flats, looking at maybe half that per unit in part because the land costs just $60k per unit.

This stretch of Rainier is going to look totally unrecognizable in 25 years, I think.

There are so many institutions already anchoring the zone: schools, tennis centers, light rail, etc.

No reason you can’t build housing for 25k+ people here.

What I would give for the Mount Baker Lid to extend to the 12th Ave bridge with a continued linear park on top.

My rowhouse layout is pretty similar.

Here is the layout for my rowhouse. Been mulling over the idea of taking out the first floor bathroom and replacing it with storage - either kitchen or otherwise (there’s a shared bathroom available on the 2nd floor). Thoughts?

“I hate the indifferent. I believe that life means taking sides. One who is really alive, can be nothing if not citizen and partisan. Indifference is lethargy; it is parasitism; it is cowardice; it is not life. Therefore, I hate the indifferent." - Antonio Gramsci
