Just seeing this now. Really fascinating. Hungarians apparently still had measurable Yakut ancestry in the Middle Ages but by now are genetically indistinguishable from others in Central Europe, while Finns are still 10% Yakut

While we want to keep them healthy and whole.

As members of the Women and Equalities Committee questioned Baroness Kishwer, it was not clear they do.

It’s 102 years to the day since the deeply eccentric Edith Sitwell sat behind a curtain at London’s Aeolian Hall, reciting bizarre poetry through what looked like a traffic cone, prompting Noel Coward to take the piss, which started a highly entertaining multi-decade literary feud...🧵

African prisoners made sound recordings in German camps in WW1: this is what they had to say
African prisoners in German camps were studied by ethnographers, who recorded their voices. What they had to say is poignant and unexpected.

It's when you start saying these things that ppl start to realise quite how bonkers the belief system they are being asked to comply with is.

People don't believe that male people are female.

That is why you keep losing in court.

Bc your political claims are based on things that are not true.

Tried out the pregnant pianos idea last night as a bedtime story and the girls ended up going to sleep at 11pm. So a rather disastrous success. There are some big practical issues that need to be resolved or glossed over if it's going to get anywhere as a story.
