Saw this in the grocery store earlier today, and when I did two very distinct things happened:

1) I heard the sickest guitar riff ever played on this or any other planet

2) I got instant heartburn

Folks of BlueSky, I'm trying to figure something out. When you talk about the retail place where the food lives, do you say "grocery store" or "supermarket"? Or do you get specific with it i.e. Food Lion vs Wegmans? #linguistics

So I'm watching Bloodsport and just what exactly is Jackson's fighting style? Did one of the scouts see him knock a guy out in the parking lot of a tractor pull at the county fair and think "This guy definitely deserves to fight for the honor of being a champion of martial arts"?

Hot take: audiobooks do not count as reading. 57% of US adults read below a 6th grade level, and 41% can't read above a 4th grade level and are functionally illiterate. There is a difference between someone reading you a story and being able to read it yourself.

BlueSky is trying to monetize so let's show them some numbers:

Reskeet this if you refuse to pay for BlueSky+ until trust & safety decides to prioritize marginalized users.

That's $96 / year of lost revenue for each reskeet...

At the 100th anniversary of the Jamestown High School Acapella Choir Vespers concert. There are over 400 alumni singing along with the choir this year. I was in 02-05, and both my siblings were in it at one point as well as my mom and aunt. They're both gone now, so I'm here for them.

Please help and share if you can. Our dog trainer Jeannine was recently screwed over by a local business that promised her a dream position only to take advantage of her, destroying her business and sole source of income in the process.

Conversations With My Conservative Friend:

CF: You see that new ad with the Gilmore Girls lady and the coffee guy?

Me: Oh yeah, it was cute. Loved seeing Kirk in it

CF: I don't get it, do people like that?

Me: *tries to explain the cultural impact and pop culture influence of GG

CF: Well,

Question for all the writers and readers out there: do you think the rise in popularity of YA as a genre and/or audiobooks is related to falling literacy rates? 57% of US adults can't read above a 6th grade level, and 41% can't read above a 4th grade level and are functionally illiterate.

What if I told you that the only reason I am bald is that I’m afraid of a Ratatouille situation? What if I told you that I’d have so much hair if not for the fear of a rat using me like a puppet? These are modes of control, Neo. This is how they manipulate us. Ratatouilles, Neo. Rats that pull hair.

A broken oven means you get creative (and get to buy new toys). Here's this year's dry brined, smoked turkey. A truly delicious experiment

I still have the app for the other place, and the difference in energy between here and there is just insane to me. I'm so glad to have access to a social platform that is largely free from the ignorant hate and vitriol that the other place actively encourages and promotes.

One of my favorite things to come home to is my cat having soapy, sticky feet because he decided the laundry soap would be much more accessible if it was in a puddle on the floor of the laundry room instead of in the bottle on the shelf. He's a terribly thoughtful creature.

At #SheasBuffalo with the missus to see "& Juliet", a meta musical about Shakespeare and his wife rewriting the ending of the original play. It's been a blast so far. A pop musical with songs from the late 90s-mid 00s. Fun set, great cast, and a level of cheese they really lean into.
