blog.pragmaticengineer.com/stack-overfl... Sad to see the death of Stack overflow. I think the idea of codifying community reputation/trust and increasing permissions as that reputation grows is still a great idea for online communities.
Stack overflow is almost dead
Today, Stack overflow has almost as few questions asked per month, as when it launched back in 2009. A recap of its slow, then rapid, downfall.

Idea: $1 yearly subscription for sites with user generated content. It would make bots semi-cost prohibitive and mitigate the need for sites to make the user an ad profile to sell.

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990.
One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS.

This isn’t just about JavaScript. If Oracle can hold onto this trademark, what does that say about the trademark system as a whole?

Spend a few weeks exploring greener pastures (react, next.js, svelte, deno fresh, vue.js, htmlx, astro, alpine.js, tailwind, unocss, web components, ect.)

Take away: tailwind+alpine is a powerful UI combo. Paired with a server-first architecture like astro.build makes a particularly nice tech-stack
Astro
Astro builds fast content sites, powerful web applications, dynamic server APIs, and everything in-between.

Really cool to see fosdem.org/2025/news/20... response to a planned protest. I don't agree w/ drewdevault.com/2025/01/16/2... nevertheless rather than silencing him, they're allowing him to protest. Freedom to assemble, peacefully protest, and exercising of free speech is great to see.

Every single experience I've ever had with crypto has been bad.

Who are we if we're not a product of our experiences?

I simply cannot suffer it anymore.

Show me provable, unequivocal, abundant good and I will slowly soften.
