Media Diet

🎵 Florence + The Machine, Everybody Scream — I have no prior Florence experience but really like this album. The whole "start slow and build a song to a wild ass peak" thing works for me. "You Can Have It All" is a favorite. A little called out by “It must be nice to be a man and make…

Ol’ Bob

My friend Jason came over as he'd just got a new MacBook and a new Black Lion audio interface he wanted to try out. We plugged my Ear Trumped Mabel into it and did a few songs. I dragged my web cam setup downstairs to do the video haha. The song is Ol' Bob from Roger Netherton. There is a…

📣 New article on @frontendmasters.com about a visual problem that bugged me for years: making a card that truly feels deep.

The Jeopardy Phenomenon

Then you read another article in the same paper and it's about something you know intimately (your job, your neighborhood, your hobby, etc) there is a good chance you'll be like hey! that's not quite right!

I SUPER regret buying an Amazon Echo Show 8 for this reason. The damn thing is loaded with ads at all times.

"Hey Alexa, how do you turn off the ads?"
"You can't."

It's gross, definitely avoid.
Fresh dystopian hell from Samsung fridges with ads.

chris here reporting live from the local McDonalds.

The Grinch Meal ($13.59) for a Big Mac, Large Fries, and Large Drink *also* includes “Grinch Salt” (dill pickle seasoning with a special shaker bag) *and* pair of cute novelty socks.

This is the kind of holiday fast food innovation we deserve.

There's always going to be HTML/CSS/JS that's too complex to write by hand. Color values, gradients, custom easing, as mentioned here, are among them. Responsive images syntax in HTML is another. Gotta let tools/automation handle it, typically. Still the right language for it.
As CSS becomes more powerful, we are beginning to see a new weak point.

@whitep4nth3r.com grills @andreasmoller.dk about his spicy-flavoured takes in our latest video, and offers up a wild solution (that all of us have actually been using for decades).

Not too late to get in your Thanksgiving viewing of The Last Waltz. So star studded they only let Ringo play drums for like 2 minutes at the end.

Adults: it suck’s how binary everything is these days. Everybody is Team A or Team B and no earnest discussion happens.

Roblox: You have 10 seconds to pick a candy and then you’re given a rolling pin to beat everyone who picked the other candy to death.

real question:

Does vibecoding just mean "used ai during coding" now?

I feel like it used to specifically mean agentic coding where you *only* use prompts/context and specifically don't write code yourself.

ok I've decided what my interop 2026 vote is (#interop2026)?

`margin-trim`

My fingers reach for it all the time only to be like, oh yeah, Safari-only.

Imagine a `.card` with padding, it just *begs* for `margin-trim: block;`

Google is shipping another VS Code fork with AI smashed into it (ala cursor, windsurf, trae, etc)

It's unclear to me if Microsoft is like "cool, the market position of VS code is super dominant" or "screw y'all making a billion dollars off the back of our thing doing exactly what we wanna do"
