Another way this feels similar to COVID — the disaster is already unfolding but the people in charge seem to think it’ll only impact “blue” areas.
I’m not sure the rest of the country fully grasps the panic and anger building in DC, MD, and VA.
The entire economy of this area is about to collapse. Paychecks are stopping. Careers are ruined. Taxes are about to plummet. Yet no one seems able to stop this madness.

Cutting NASA's workforce by about 10 percent. That's a boost to the Chinese and Russians. And the guy in charge of SpaceX made this decision? That's a total conflict of interest. Moreover, firing all probationary employees shows they're not serious about evaluating programs. It's a machine gun.
