The message from the SSA celebrating the BBB is nutty propaganda. The avg SS payment is only $1,979 a month. The Fed tax savings at best is $218/mnth if you take a std deduction filing single. It is not taking most folks out of poverty. Nor does the whole benefit come close to a living wage in 25.
