I've been working on a catalog of local indie tabletop games with some other designers. The goal is to give this to FLGS's to see if they have interest in buying games from us directly or from places like @ipr.bsky.social

We are printing the second edition now that has a bunch of cool local games!

How it started vs how it’s going. Artists are magic. Shout out to Chris he doesn’t use social media but his cover is incredible and I can’t wait to see it in physical form.
An incredibly rough sketch, done with a finger on the notes app. It depicts a vaguely humanoid upper body and head that more closely resembles an ice cream cone, with a large blob above the head representing where the title text plans to go. A line w is below the point of the cone, and a two circles, one in the bottom right and one in the bottom left, are placed and numbered to be described in detail in a reference document. The figure has two arms coming out of its side, with a scattering of dots instead of hands suggesting crumbling to dust. I drew this so I can say it, it’s dogshit, and without the numbers and accompanying document, it’s incomprehensible The finished cover illustration by Chris Bennet. Black and white. A figure in the center, seen from the torso up, is being torn apart and pulled into a black hole at the bottom of the page. Its body is stoney and cracking apart. Its head is a circular window to another universe, filled with stars, one of which streaks like a comet, its tail bursting out of the portal and exploding up to the top of the page. The title “Sometimes We Were Infinite, is written in white fancy lettering, except the last word, which is written in simple, strong black text that is slanted towards the viewer and partially overlaps with the figure’s head, with that falling star from before peeking out between the N and the last I, creating a starburst. In the background, black stars glimmer in a white void. It looks incredible.

Any sicko’s out there who want to mash brains together hmu. I can write, edit, manage projects (sorta) and have an understanding of the crowdfunding and fulfillment process much higher than the average person but lower than someone who’s gone through it. WORKING ON DOING IT FOR REAL THOUGH.

Best advice I can give 1st time designers (or emerging ones) is to find the other funky lil guys in the same position as you & work together.

The history of this hobby (like a lot of adventures) is overwhelmingly "here are 3-6 idiots who didn't know how to do something and made it happen anyways"
