Today's discussion with my Cap U Local Gov't Finance class: ideas for building local economies in uncertain times. Student suggestions included: buy local and food security programs, specialized training partnerships with post-secondaries, and creating regional Economic Development "EOCs".

In response to the American tariffs, I have directed government and crown agencies to exclude US suppliers from any new purchasing or procurement agreements.

It’s just one of the actions we are taking to prioritize Canada first.

With times being what they are, I've been thinking a lot about Canadian culture and what it means to be Canadian in general. In that spirit, I re-watched a favourite NFB documentary from the 1990s last night. Truly bats, and highly entertaining!
