I don't get how people don't realize that a technology that replaces junior and entry level positions in a field destroys that field.
There's no skipping steps. You have to be a junior before you can be a senior, and if you don't have senior people, you don't have a field.

Remember, kids: A real big goal of "AI" is to entirely sever capital from labor, and no, there will be no universal basic income, you can all just starve and die, thanks

AI is already taking jobs away from entry-level workers
Software and customer service are most at risk right now and could be the canary in the coal mine.

A great way to honor Terence Stamp is to watch The Limey. First, because it at least partially means you’re watching *two* Terence Stamp movies. Second, because The Limey absolutely rules and Stamp is phenomenal in it.

Pretty wild how absolutely terrified the Democratic establishment is of Mamdani.
Former President Bill Clinton is endorsing former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, his former HUD secretary, as the Democratic establishment tries to attempt to ensure Zohran Mamdani does not win the Democratic primary for NYC mayor. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/22/n...

Trump's tariffs could increase the cost of an iPhone 16 Pro by almost $300. Who pays for it? Us or Apple?
And if we moved iPhone manufacturing to the U.S.? Let’s just say… get ready for a bajillion-dollar iPhone.

I struggled as a freelance editor for 15 years, finally giving it up when COVID ended my main dependable side hustle. Thankfully I was able to evolve and adapt, because as I've heard from freelancers who were better at it than I, it's only gotten worse out there www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

ANORA wasn't my favorite film last year but it's great to see a small film made with a lot of passion and heart take home the big prize. LFG Sean Baker!

congratulations to No Other Land, which may be the first film to win a major Oscar but not theatrical distribution.
The Most Relevant Movie in Theaters Is Poised to Make Oscar History. It Would Be a Shameful First.
It swept the critics’ awards and seems like an Oscars lock, yet it still doesn’t have a distributor.

Enjoyed crafting this Harrison Ford interview for @wsj.com. A good example of having challenging raw footage of a somewhat disengaged interview subject, and using the power of editing (and creative question re-working) to make it look like a fun and lively discussion. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJdO...
