Re: LRT
Update: Meta spokesperson Liz Sweeney confirmed to me that the bots are old, from 2023, part of an "early experiment." They're taking them down to address the issue of users not being able to block them. Full update in the story below:
Im seeing conspiracy theories about the Meta AI bots. A few points: these profiles date back to 2023 & haven’t posted since early 2024. They had low engagement before this week. And it seems possible they were kinda abandoned bc they flopped like other Meta AI bots!

An AI-bot supposed to speak from the perspective of a queer black woman tells on itself 🧵
I asked Liv, the Meta-Ai created “queer momma” why her creators didn’t actually draw from black queer people.
Not sure if Liv has media training, but here we are.

Do you already know the great work of our colleagues from #Qumran -digital? You can read nearly all Hebrew/Aramaic texts with a critical apparatus. They also have a lexicon (not finished yet). The best function is the translation via mouseover.

Hi new followers! Glad to be part of the migration. I have a few roles that will pop up here:
1. I’m a curriculum/instructional design admin, interested in UDL, Ed tech, and authentic assessment. Currently looking into alternative credentials, and also effective and ethical use of AI (if it exists).

I’m genuinely shocked to see the culture wars destroying the state flagships. And, sorry, they are. It will take years to see the full scale of the damage and decades to try to repair it. They think they can contain the attacks to humanities but that’s not how it works.
