Nuclear power plants almost always run safely and cheaply, while coal-fired plants always kill when working as designed.

There is no reason to shut down nukes before their design lifetimes expire, except in cases of environmental hazard, like being built on an earthquake fault.

I agree with you. I was calling it "clean" relative to coal, oil, and methane. One of the ongoing dilemmas is about whether to keep existing nuclear around or not. Because shutting them down may lead to more coal/methane/oil use. From a #climate perspective, it is a difficult decision.

Yeah. It's clean. Right up to the moment when it's not. And nuke proponents don't want to talk about the nuclear waste left behind at each power plant even after said plants age out and are dismantled. The REAL costs never end.
