Morally broken leaders talk of #Pipelines as #NationBuilding instead of burning but it's a disastrous economic bet as well. #CostOfClimate needs to be demonstrated the and time again. #BigOil will continue to just take the money and run #ClimateChange prospect.org/environment/...
Climate Change Will Bankrupt the Country
Climate-fueled disasters cost America almost a trillion dollars over the last year, far more than economists predicted.

Every so often we need to look up from the daily outrage cycle and look at the larger patterns. Deleting climate datasets and degrading global assessments are not one-off actions.

They are a program stripping evidence from policy and politics. We must resist this.

Shrinking #coffee harvests effect more than our daily fix

Experts & orgs like @projectdrawdown.bsky.social suggest solutions like #agroforestry so @coffeewatch.bsky.social has now created a library of all research ever conducted on it, to help producers grow the finicky plant amid #climatechange:
The knowledge to save coffee already exists, now it’s in one e-library
Roughly half the world’s arabica coffee-growing regions will become unsuitable for cultivation of the crop by 2050 due to the effects of climate change. The consequences of a shrinking coffee harvest ...

The UK just committed £22bn to carbon capture and storage – a tech with an 80% failure rate that lets oil & gas greenwash their emissions.

At this CCS conference, most speakers repped fossil fuel companies.

Share if you think it's absurd we're funding tech that protects fossil fuel profits 🙃

CARNEY: "A functioning, not corrupt, Venezuelan economy will produce more oil. It will be better for the Venezuelan people. It will be more stable for the Western Hemisphere. That's all a good thing... Canadian oil will be competitive because it is low risk, low cost, and low carbon."
