Previous to the FDA, folks would put chalk and plaster of Paris in milk to make it appear white. They could also add formaldehyde to cover the smell and taste of spoiled milk.

I could write a 10,000-word essay on how Jurassic Park is a very fun but exceptionally wrong-headed movie.

Like, it wasn't Frankensteinian science and chaos theory that doomed the park. It was Nedry.
ppl keep mistaking Jurassic Park for a survival film against dinosaurs when it's actually a survival film against startup culture
Deep in my heart I do not believe that Jurassic Park would pose substantially different or more challenging security issues than any well stocked zoo.

Biggest opening for an original film this decade.

a good part of me thinks that in addition to everything else, the reason they are scrubbing these stories is they do not want disadvantaged kids to believe they can aspire to anything other than their designated “black” or “hispanic” or “woman” job
This profile has been scrubbed from the site. Rose Ferreira grew up without reliable electricity, immigrated to NY, then survived homelessness and cancer on her way to NASA. She was so moved by images from the Webb telescope she wept. This is what’s at stake

Just had a sample of the Eaton Fire ash that is in my driveway run on the department XRF. Is there titanium (new house paint)? Yup. Lead (old house paint)? You betcha. Heavy metals? Check. Treat that ash like it's toxic folks (because it is)

If you have clear skies over the next three nights, look to the southwest after dusk. Venus will be by far the brightest object in the sky, but Saturn will be just a couple of degrees away from it! Venus is currently 170 times brighter, so they make an odd couple.

Pure David Lynch. You may not remember what he was trying to sell you, but that doesn't really matter, does it? Only NYC would hire David Lynch to produce a PSA for the Dept of Sanitation, and after seeing it you may not litter ever again. Marion Cotillard stars in a 15 min short for Dior.
