I spent some time at the site where protestors incinerated five Waymos—all lined up neatly in a row in downtown LA—and spoke to journalists, eyewitnesses and activists who were there.

Got a call from AAA today saying my wallet was found and to call (LA suburb) police station, which I did. I thought they must have the wrong person because I haven't lost my wallet. But contents did prove to be mine, DL, CC, med ins, etc. Then I remembered I had lost my wallet in Oct 2023

Just found out that they're remaking 1 of my favorite LGBTQ films from the 90s, Ang Lee's The Wedding Banquet. Not sure how I feel about that, especially if it is set in current day. 30 yrs ago there were comedic aspects of immigrant gay boys being closeted w their parents back home. Not today.

Home from my Türkiye trip. Never seen so much snow on the San Bernardino mountains. And was unable to get a pic but the wildflowers in between the runways were amazing. Glad to be home.

On my way to Istanbul airport. Next stop Berlin. Used the BiTaksi app to call a cab. Was waiting outside & a taxi picked me up. A few minutes later got a call from my taxi. The taxi I was in was not part of BiTaksi. Then my driver tried to convince me that it was a holiday & no buses were running 1/

The taxi I was in was not part of BiTaksi. Then my driver tried to convince me that it was a holiday & no buses were running 1/
Haven’t been to a barber in 20+ years. Usually buzz my head every few days. But I forgot to pack the charger. So on my last day in Istanbul I went to one near my Airbnb. Buzzed my head, shaved my neck, cleaned up the beard. Charged me 150 lira, less than $5. I gave him 300 lira.

Thirty years ago today was the Northridge Earthquake. I was at the Johnson Space Center in Houston preparing for JPL’s Spaceborne Imaging Radar missions flying on the space shuttle in April and again in October. To this day I, with my degrees in geology and geophysics, feel I missed out.

Saw a guy in locker room of gym having trouble opening his thumb print activated lock. Was getting very frustrated. Could it have been that you just came from the sauna/hot tub/showers and your fingers are water logged???

A good chunk of most every day I spend trying to convince some one the difference between people being nefarious vs those people (usually complete strangers) just being irresponsible.
