So my Mini Cooper seems to have been repaired and sold to someone just outside of LA. Nice that they would turn it in including the cash. Strange that they would drop it off at a police station rather than drop it in the mail. After all they have my drivers license so have my address.

did it occur to me. I must have not lost my wallet at gas station in Nevada, but lost it in my 2012 MiniCooper, which on Oct 30 2024, I sold to carmax (for $4.5k! 57k miles, but in need of engine work). I searched the car at the time, & thoroughly went through it before selling but did not see it.

For the first time since 1999 I can drive when it is me and two or more others.

That was scary fast. Walked up to the customs window and before I could hand him my passport he said “Timothy? Go on through.” Either facial recognition (they took a pic when I left LA) or the chip inside my passport. Time between landing and on the street, 20 minutes.

I insisted that he take me to the (private) bus stop. Six busses were there. Then he charged me 400 lira when the taxi from bus to apartment was only 200. I can only imagine what he would have charged to the airport. Bus is 170 lira. 2/

Always check the reviews on google maps. This one got great reviews. Reviews of another barber nearby say they jack up the price for tourists.
