Republicans are cutting taxes for the rich at the same time that they’re rewarding corporations for sending jobs overseas.

They only care about their billionaire and CEO donors. It’s that simple.

On the eve of his second election — on October 31, 1936 — FDR delivered his coup de grace, explaining the stakes in his fight with the moneyed interests.

Today’s economic royalists are backing Trump, and the fight is much the same.

What a powerful juxtaposition: I just heard that the $40 billion Trump gave to Argentina to bail out his autocrat friend, is about equal to the annual budget of USAID, the organization that helped people in need around the world, and was fed into the woodchipper by Musk/Doge. It’s criminal and evil.

Things that make me go ‘hmmm’:
- if the Dems were smart enough to steal the 2020 Presidential election, why didn’t they give themselves more seats in the Senate?
- and having figured out how to steal the 2020 election, how come they lost in ’24?

Holding Charlie Kirk up as ‘a free-speech advocate, and an exemplar of how we should engage politically across differences…seems to place the civility of Kirk’s style of argument over the incivility of what he argued.’

Don’t let Trump bully the Smithsonian and rewrite history!
Recently, Trump said "Big changes are being made at the Smithsonian" (1) after the White House threatened to strip the Smithsonian’s funding if it didn’t change its museums to fit Trump’s far-right wo...

When Bezos bought the Post, I initially thought it was a good thing, as his wealth could insulate the Post from the financial pressures that have taken down so many good newspapers. What I didn’t anticipate was Bezos’ willingness to bend the knee to Trump and MAGA. I’m so disappointed and angry.
Firing a Black woman for quoting Kirk’s horrific statements about Black women is insane. It seems the Washington Post would rather perform politeness (and demand that the people Kirk harmed do it too) that tell the truth: karenattiah.substack.com/p/the-washin...

There has been a rush among centrists like Gavin Newsom and Ezra Klein to brush over the hateful life of Charlie Kirk and valorize the man.

Let me be clear, killing Charlie Kirk was wrong and abhorrent.

We must condemn murder without sanitizing a man who built his empire on hate.

My latest piece.
We Must Not Posthumously Sanitize Charlie Kirk's Hateful Life
Influential anti-LGBTQ+ activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday. While condemning violence is something most can get behind, sanitization of his hate has gone too far.

I didn’t get a chance to comment on Ezra Klein’s opinion piece on the Charlie Kirk murder. But this reader’s comment comes pretty close to my thoughts.

We need a ‘CDC-in-exile’ to provide sound, science-and-evidence-based guidance to the public for the remainder of the Trump administration. We can’t trust the CDC, FDA, HHS or any other part of the Trump government; they’re focused on destroying the federal government as we knew it.

I don’t think our president knows what ‘thank you for your attention to this matter’ means. He uses it constantly, but almost always incorrectly.
