Relationship mortician, ski mom, lover of machine-washable throw blankets.

No one of consequence.

Somewhere in the Maine mountains.
14 was very nice this morning. Suspiciously nice. Eddie Haskell nice. Washing laundry. Seeking out chores. Showing me how much homework he got done. Double hugs. Offering me tea.

14: so mom, I know you are working trying to do your billing, but Sugarloaf is open today...

It's #SundayCheckIn for 11/30.

How was your week?

How are you holding up?

What do you need?

What are you struggling with?

What has helped?

What kindness would help you?

Remember to wash your sheets.

I made 14 get off the phone with friends to watch a show with me and eat shrimp dip.

I'm told I'm extremely annoying for this.

I'm all set with 2025, but that feels like a double dog dare for 2026 to make 2025 seem tame by comparison.

If you are shopping online at businesses that have kind practices, don't forget to leave notes with your order about what they are doing well.

These dollars are votes for the way you want the world to be, which are more effective when you tell businesses what they are doing that got those votes.

This morning I found the dog on the sofa and 14 on the dog bed.

And this, my friends, is why all the children's blankets are machine washable.

Checking the weather forecast, it appears we've arrived at garage is spare fridge and barn is spare freezer weather.

Can confirm.
Handing Hegseth over to The Hague is the moderate position.
Also recognize that this unambiguous use of the military to commit murder of helpless noncombatants as they fought for life is a direct reflection of the virulent white supremacy that has seized our government, where every Latino man is a gangbanger in a de facto state of war against White America

I paid off a student loan today. 🍾

...only a dozen more to go 😐

This is being done in our name and on our dime.

You'd think Congress might exercise some of that power they have but...aren't?
SCOOP: For the Trump admin's Sept. 2 strike targeting 11 men on a boat suspected of ferrying drugs, SecDef Hegseth gave an order, officials say, to kill them all. When two men were still alive, orders were given to strike again, finishing them off.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

Never have I ever been happier that I'm too old to have experienced or loaded up my children with that elf on the shelf nonsense.

And with the passing of Thanksgiving day, we have now entered filing for divorce season - which will peak after Christmas with New Year's resolution divorce filings that taper off into a short burst of I CAN'T BELIEVE I FOUND OUT THEY ARE CHEATING ON VALENTINE'S DAY divorce filings.

The boys were sent outside to find something creative to do for several hours.

Guess what they did?

12: 14 used cock on my infento! To put it on his dick!

Me: WHAT?!?!

12, slower: 14. Used caulk. On my infento. To glue it to a stick.

Me: 🤣

12: why are you laughing? That's not funny!

Me: what I thought you said was...

12: I have to get caulk off my infento!

Me: either way, that was a problem

TFW you take the moments between stirring to clean, label, and restock your cupboards.

Me: I'm going to get the turkey in the oven at 10 am!

Also, me: I'm living in a time-space vortex where 10:00 am somehow reads as 12:35 pm on all my clocks. Weird.

Take anything that needs to be at room temperature (butter, cream cheese, etc) and put it out on the counter now.

So, uh, I accidentally ordered 2 club-sized packages of Hawaiian rolls.

There are 4 of us.

And we have 64 rolls.

At yeast we have carbs?

The bird has arrived.

Want to guess how much a 16.36 pound, locally-raised, organic bird was this year?

It's hard for Mainers to think income of $140k (!!!) a year is a poverty line...that's more than a Judge makes!

That's how much housing has gone up in the past few years.

In Cumberland or York County would likely not qualify to buy a home if they still have student loans or a car payment.
TL;DR: the *actual* poverty line in the US for a family of four with two young children is about $140,000, and there isn't much improvement in quality of life between $40K and $100K.

There's more good stuff in there too, you should read the whole thing.

Threatening deportation of a co-parent is abuse of your co-parent and your child. Having it happen is downright sinister.

Sure looks like someone helping a family member "win" their kid in a dispute, to the detriment of that child.
"A woman with a family connection to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Revere, Massachusetts."
