As close as this place is to my house, I don’t get up here nearly enough. Some wild blueberries at the top of the blue dot trail. Yum!

If you've never read this, read it now! I've seen several moms on FB over the years say that having read it saved the life of a child in their community.
Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Suggest masking in groups and around strangers (you know if you need to with family or friends.)

You don't want this, says a good friend who can barely swallow water. :(
The Nimbus strain that was named “razor blade throat” as it was surging in Asia a few weeks ago, now constitutes 37% of tested Covid samples in the US and is posed to become the dominant strain over the summer. So, if you are going to be at a huge event, say a Magic Con, I strongly suggest masking.
‘Razor Blade Throat’ Symptoms As ‘Nimbus’ COVID-19 Variant Spreads
As the NB.1.8.1 variant, informally dubbed "Nimbus," continues to spread, there have been more informal reports of "razor blade throat" as a possible COVID-19 symptom.

The Louvre, the world’s most-visited museum, has withstood war, terror, and the pandemic. But on Monday, it was brought to a halt by its own striking staff.

The iconic museum is hitting a breaking point of its own and becoming a symbol of tourism pushed to its limits. wapo.st/4jQFWw5

8>> So all you "LGB without the T" assholes better start prepping.
It won't stop there either.
Please, notify every trans person you know of this development so they can begin making appropriate preparations to keep themselves safe from Big Brother.
And check on us. We are not okay.

And cis queer people are next. They would not have rolled back those rules on the basis of sexual orientation if they did not want the option to do so. I would not trust their claim that they won't do so. Trump has shown time and time again he will say something and later say "I never said that."

part 4 >>> However, when asked, they would not make the same claim in regards to gender identity. In other words, they fully intend to start actively monitoring trans people as potential threats.

Part 3 >> When asked about this, they said they would *NEVER* monitor US citizens based on their sexual orientation (if you wouldn't do it, then why would you roll these rules back? - we'll come back to this).

part the second >> This has gone extremely underreported, but DHS has quietly rolled back some rules that would ban them from being able to employ targeted intelligence and surveillance monitoring techniques against people on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.
