Business and farmers, incl. the Australian Farmers Federation, support #climate action, #NetZero and #renewables. Why does the mainstream news media rarely report their views yet rptedly airs the spin of the fossil fuels industry (via their spruikers like Barnaby Joyce and Matt Canavan)? #auspol

Qld Senator Matt Canavan has tweeted 30+ posts attacking #ClimateAction, #renewables or #NetZero in the last 5 days. He never mentions that business & farmers support climate action. Would it be unfair to ask if he's receiving donations from the fossil fuels industry? 🤔 #auspol

Many thanks to @npr.org's All Things Considered for talking to me about inequality. When .41 cents of every $1 of new wealth has gone to the richest 1% since 2000 while the bottom half of humanity received just .1 cent of every $1, you know there's a problem

Why do people love spicy food – even when it hurts to eat it?
Tearing up, sweating and other bodily functions are all signs that the body is trying to expel spicy foods as quickly as possible. But there is a simple reason why some people enjoy those sensations

Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Some good news. Incredible results of what seems a high quality study. Very sick babies in ICU - in areas where tuberculosis & polio are big threats - who were vaccinated as newborns, gained a huge boost in survival rates from those & other infections. A change in protocols might be revolutionary.
