Every now and then I give in to a bit of hope from papers like this
A paper in Nature Communication reports on a new method to produce strong, biodegradable plastic from bamboo. The bioplastic resembles oil-based plastics in strength, shapeability, and thermal stability but can biodegrade in soil within 50 days. go.nature.com/4h1xv0X 🧪

desperately wish I had had this article to read and reference 10 or so years ago, but glad to have it now
Today's article is about a form of bad-faith speech somewhat akin to bullshit, which I'm calling (because why not) wank. I don't quite think I've focused the ideas down as much as I can, but I think it says some interesting things regardless:
An essay on wank | deadSimpleTech
This captures well the uncomfortable, slightly disorienting feeling that wank creates when you're subjected to it, wherein you're expected to speak about and think about the statement as though it say...

The vote-splitting that led to @morricemike.bsky.social's deplorable ouster is such an obvious example of our need for ranked ballots. 62.9% of voters in Kitchener Centre didn't want a Conservative and only 34.2% did. Brutal.
