Nice work from Du & Warmflash using micropatterned hESCs to dissect midbrain-hindbrain boundary formation

Timing of WNT signalling, not strength or duration, specifies midbrain-hindbrain boundary

Good example of recapitulating developmental signalling in vitro

A novel self-organizing embryonic stem cell system reveals the role of WNT signaling parameters in anterior-posterior patterning of the nervous system
A Wnt activity gradient is essential for the formation of the anterior-posterior (AP) axis in all vertebrates. The relationship between the dynamics of Wnt signaling and specification of AP coordinate...

I attended a talk by
@deisseroth.bsky.social —the guy who made #optogenetics a household name in #neuroscience. It was so inspiring almost like a TED Talk specially who have been told "there is no benefit in doing basic science research" and still said "watch me"!!!

Back in 2012, I was a high schooler fascinated by the groundbreaking discovery of iPSCs. Fast forward 12 years, and today I had the surreal honor of meeting the man behind it all—Prof. Yamanaka! Truly a full-circle, fanboy moment. 🚀

You need something to calm your nerves and stop #overthinking during your #PhD.

I chose to explore painting for the first time. Fingers crossed🤞
