MAGA as a movement has always been a white-supremacist, neo-Confederate movement. It takes advantage of people's faith, latent bigotry, and desire to assimilate into the United States. Most people know that this is what the movement is but for selfish or stupid reasons, assume they'll still be free.

Another angle: I don't have children, and have never complained about my property taxes (in SD) going for public schools. But paying for vouchers, that really burns me.
