Made a few prints of quotes from past Avatars in A:TLA as decorations for my apartment and as someone who is not a very visual art minded person, I gotta tell you: Don’t buy shit on Etsy that you can make in Canva in twenty minutes.

It seems this isn’t true (whoops!) but my other sentiment in the thread about keeping your money local and donating it under your own name (or at least specifically not under the name of a corporation) is still very real.
Do people not know that large corporate stores ask you to donate to a charity at the register out of their own self-interest…? They’re donating the money to the charity, yes, but it’s so they can claim a tax break for themselves.

Donate it yourself! They don’t deserve a tax break off of your money.

I love the way that the pandemic taught people how QR codes work so now they’re everywhere and being used as decently smart solutions.

Amazed that companies are making DisplayLink adaptors for VGA ports like it's 2002 again.

Who said you can’t do a pretty good twist kick while you’ve got that shit on?
when trying on pants, do this in the store. then tell the sales associate "the menswear guy told me to do this."

I bought a robot vacuum/mop friend to help me keep my floors clean, because my floor is just about the last concern I have 99% of the time due to the ADHD, AND because I’m really far away from the floor and it makes cleaning the floors way more annoying.

It’s just really annoying when you see two paths forward in your career, you know there’s a place for both of them at your current employer where everyone would benefit, and NOBODY is willing to let you take half a step toward anything.

It’s a long story, but I advocated to myself at work and managed to either negotiate my way out of a pay decrease (again, long story, it’s not that insane)

OR

I made somebody double check their work because my job was about to unintentionally pay me $3k a year less than what they meant to pay me.

Exec. Director at a client is insisting that someone here at my company helped the client with “the code that built our website” and I have no idea who or what they’re talking about and their web developer is NOWHERE TO BE SEEN in this email chain.

Orders aren't the law. The law is. If you're ordered to do something that's against the law, you are breaking the law if you follow that order. This is not a complicated area of jurisprudence!

We need to start putting legislation in place that requires pharmacies to do something other than ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when a script is sent for a medication that isn’t in stock.
