Natalie quotes Anne Carson like 50 times in this video, and if using Anne Carson's work as a lens to examine Twilight isn't the most For Me thing to ever have been done, idk what is.

does anyone else's music taste revert to you-but-younger after a break up? (I've listened to Death Cab For Cutie's Narrow Stairs about 20 times in one week.)

The Curse (2023) is Twin Peaks levels of either "I didn't see that coming!" or "is that really what's going to happen? surely that can't happen??" with no in between. bizarre and exceptional television.

is it time to bust out my "bigfoot is bears" photo collection again? if your mental image of a bear is a thick-furred, fat glossy male bear in autumn, you're probably not prepared for how weird their proportions can look in spring, or when walking upright, like they frequently do.

So bizarre that this isn't considered a national crisis, especially by politicians on the left. We're sleepwalking into an environment where like 80% of available information is right-wing propaganda and the rest is behind a paywall.
You’d expect the rate at which newspapers eliminated jobs would taper off to exponential decay at some point, but no. They just keep firing people like they expect to go to 0 humans employed by 2030

I've read at least 5 books by each of these 6 authors (turns out I can't make it to 10--I've read 2 or 3 books by a bunch more authors, but 5 is a lot for me, it seems!):
Samuel Beckett
Angela Carter
Neil Gaiman
Gail Carson Levine

Okay, I'll play:

Al Jazeera asked displaced Palestinian children about their hopes for the new year. I wanted to share their responses here:

I am constantly trying to explain this to my teen students. they are all baffled that I identified as "anti-feminist" in high school, and I tell them I am so grateful I didn't have a platform to solidify that into some kind of personal brand that I then felt compelled to defend.
Twitter constantly reminds me of how ill-informed I, too, was as a depressed 20 year old self-identified radical feminist. Fortunately however my ill-informed and sometimes downright harmful opinions weren’t being broadcast to millions of people, giving me the ability to depress others at scale

“But how will I explain trans people to my kids?” Bitch that is extremely easy, like 100x easier than explaining the plot points of The Phantom Menace

deciding to read these two books at the same time was a brilliant idea, but also lol why have I done this.
