I was unsuccessful 😔
Just did a 1st stage interview for my dream job, and I think it went well, I didn't shit the bed and weirdly enjoyed it!

The job is very much at the heart of the Football industry, so a much-needed move out of corporate finance.

Can't put into words how excited I am to get this job.

The idea that Spurs shouldn't even be trying to get Xavi Simmons is ridiculous and shows the transfer window trauma.

Spurs should absolutely try, if it doesn't work they should move on to the next target. The issue is that this trying should've happened in June/July not end of August.

Back on blue-sky after a brief hiatus. Just bought 4 champions league tickets vs Copenhagen, still loads left for anyone with a membership that dips in and out like me.

Lovely weekend of football, what a player Bergvall is developing into. Roll on Champions League. I think Bentancur & Udogie will start.

"Farage has given two contradictory versions of the purchase. One that he bought it and the other that his girlfriend owns it. If the second is correct then he has engineered a massive saving on stamp duty, larger than the one that forced Angela Rayner to resign." www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...
'Hypocrite' Nigel Farage didn't pay £44k stamp duty then blasted Angela Rayner
Last year Nigel Farage announced he had bought a house in Clacton, Essex, but in fact it was his partner Laure Ferrari, 46, who shelled out almost £900,000 for the property

There's 3 core pillars of a football club. Here's how I rate Levy's performance across them:

1) The Business (Tottenham Hotspur Ltd): A*

Huge growth in revenue, stadium, infrastructure and operations. Reflected in Club value ~£3.5B. Built sustainably for sustained success.

Can't wait to see Xavi play for Spurs, he's going to combine so well with Kudus and Richarlison, maybe even Brennan.

⚽ Summer spending by England’s Premier League clubs hits record €3.5bn ⚽

Fewer clubs were under scrutiny for breaches of profit and sustainability rules rules, partly owing to asset sales and longer player contracts, report Samuel Agini and Dan Clark

Moving gas plants - which set the price of electricity- out of the market and into a nationally controlled reserve, would take £5bn off the UK’s energy bills

“Renewable energy is cheaper than gas but we’re not reaping all of the benefits clean power brings”

Energy users ‘could save £5bn a year’ if gas plants are removed from market
Former energy tsar suggests the ‘radical step’ as one of the few options the government has for cutting bills

What's the difference between tax avoidance, tax non-compliance and tax evasion?

This.

Likely Ms Rayner is in category 4 - "non-compliant".

I think signing players is a good idea, because we get a lot injuries.

In an effort to have be less addicted to my phone, I'm uninstalling bluesky on it, and will only use it on my tablet. The result hopefully, less skeets but when there are, they'll be more thoughtful.

Wish me luck you addicts!

0 shots 35 mins in. This has been a terrible performance.

Will Lankshear just scored to equalise for Oxford against Coventry!!!

So I guess we've got that going for us.

Can Thomas Frank do the impossible and guide Tottenham to a win before the international break?

Ryan Mason's West Brom is off to a great start in the Championship. 2nd (3 wins, 1 draw).

Just beaten Stoke who had one 3 of 3. Still early days but it would be great for him and West Brom if he can get them into the playoffs.

Stoke a goal down with 5 minutes to go and they haven't brought Donley on, seems he's not got himself into the 1st XI yet. Only a matter of time if they keep losing.

Can only watch the 1st half today as I have to go to a 30th bday. Hopefully we get it wrapped up nice and early.

I've got the Bundesliga on (it's free on YouTube) via the overlap, I assumed it would be some overlap people involved talking/commentating like Mark Goldbridge, but it's just a straight feed.

Really confused why?

It's already on the Bundesliga channel, what is the Overlap adding?

The error was letting Aston Villa fans join the site in my opinion...
Just to show people what this site is becoming. It used to be, by far, the best site to have an intelligent discussion.

Now it’s pretty much impossible.
@mcuban.bsky.social I like you a lot and find your posts and thoughts insightful. This behavior of re-posting brain dead crap, on the other hand, is just clogging my feed with garbage. Please stop. Nobody wants to see that, including you, so why are you dumping it in the face of others?

The two best players in the Eredivisie in 22/23:

- Xavi Simmons(PSV) 19g + 8a
- Mohammed Kudus (Ajax) 11g + 3a

Both are now at Spurs, likely combining for some crazy goals.
