Sports and politics and broadcasting and stuff. Write about hockey for Yardbarker. Broadcast Fairmont State athletics.
I wrote about the competitive imbalance created by competing state income taxes from state to state. People get tired if hearing it, but it is a legitimate concern for Canadian teams and large market teams.
How taxing issue creates competitive imbalance in NHL
One of the NHL's foremost insiders wrote recently about a proposal for how the league could and should handle one of its more vexing issues: taxes.

By definition, an outcome occurring non predicted is not "fairly predictable."

Even by LinkedIn standards, this is off the charts.

Puck heads: it's simple. No risk, no reward.

The Rangers and Canucks both rolled the dice. My latest from Yardbarker highlights exactly that! As Steve Guttenberg once said, no risk, no reward!

I think he did it knowingly not because he's an actual literal Nazi (though he's certainly very far right these days) but to troll the online left and leftish media into talking about it nonstop for days. There's actual policy for a second Trump Administration to discuss.

The numbers painted a bad picture for Derek Lalonde.

History wasn't on his side either, as the Wings playoff drought could become the longest ever among the Original Six teams. My latest from Yardbarker.
Major Red Wings HC decision shouldn't be a shocker
The Detroit Red Wings on Thursday fired head coach Derek Lalonde following a 13-17-4 start to the season, including a stretch of nine losses in their past 12 games.

I think we can listen to players & coaches when they say there is still a place for players like Matt Rempe in today's NHL. He shouldn't take their support for granted, though, because players like him are basically gone from the game. My latest from yardbarker.

History shows Matt Rempe needs to get his game under control
With each additional incident, Rempe only hurts his team and puts a target on his back.

It really was time for Kaapo Kakko and the Rangers to part ways. My latest for Yardbarker.
Kaapo Kakko and fading Rangers divorce was long overdue
Former 2019 No. 2 overall pick Kaapo Kakko didn't mince words during media availability ahead of New York's 2-0 loss to Nashville.

Blue sky... blue shirts... and a rebellion on broadway?

My latest for Yardbarker.
Is New York Rangers GM Chris Drury facing a rebellion?
Things have been spiraling for the Rangers.

There are better ways to spend my Sunday than watching the Jets. It's the point in the season where that is true.

My buddy's son is going to be in a musical version of Elf in Morgantown. Sounds *infinitely* more enjoyable than watching the Jets.

I haven't done hockey in about 12 years. Couldn't be more excited about this: a PIHL double header in Wheeling.

The Jets are 3-8 and facing off against a QB that they basically ruined a huge chunk of his career and he now is excelling leading a possible division winner while on the broadcast is the last QB to have them relevant.

Being a Jets fan is certainly an experience.

I'm starting my New Year resolution early. I'm going to listen to every album on vinyl I've got. What's the point in collecting them if I'm just letting them gather dust?

Reading the replies on a Twitter/X post about a Palestinian doctor who lost his whole family is making me lose faith in humanity.

Republicans have filed at least four lawsuits this weekend aimed at disenfranchising Pennsylvania voters in the U.S. Senate race. Only 0.2% separates the two candidates and there are still uncounted ballots.
