I say this as a culturally Jewish atheist who was raised in a family with a grandfather who was the first person to meet my aunt who survived the death camps and had numbers tattooed on her when she got off the boat. Let's focus on the policy.

The argument that symbolic gestures matter only works in places where people already agree with that! We all know the seriousness of the world's richest man doing it, but going on and on for days while actual Constitutional violating policy occurs? Bad form.

I doubt even Elon is fully aware of the unbelievable efficiency and coldness of the Nazi death machine, modeled against the American industrial assembly line. Focusing on the salute or the gesture for days instead of actual policy makes us look lacking in seriousness.

I hardly think Elon is innocent of not knowing what he was doing or over-exuberance, but how long are we going to have THIS discussion when actual policy is happening in front of us and it's far worse than any salute? Focus on what matters. Leave the symbolic out for now.

We had a nice session yesterday. Made it through five albums. Kicked off with Van Morrison's Moondance and finished with a live album from John Williams and Anne-Sophie Mutter. It was very simple and pleasant and I feel like a dunce for not doing it more often.
