I dunno, it doesn’t seem to me to be that hard to understand that the less a race is *about* immigration the more pro immigrant stances you can take on immmigration.

I really really wish that everybody who got attention for making the (correct) argument that antisemitism operates in some crucially different ways from other bigotries wasn’t doing so in service of justifying Israel obliterating Palestine.
I'm struck by this clip of former Obama speechwriter Sarah Hurwitz saying Holocaust education has backfired in part because people Palestinians as victims: "They think the lesson of the Holocaust is…you fight the big powerful people hurting the weak people."

One of the most deeply dispiriting things about being Jewish online is just how many people understand this simple point right up until somebody who is Jewish tells them they’ve done something kinda antisemitic.

this is a great point and also the fact that the main driver of his unpopularity in both terms is that he broke his promise to govern like the moderate businessman people somehow convince themselves he is every four years—and not that he's fucking psychotic—has a similar effect imo
I think it breaks people who pay attention’s brains that for people who don’t pay attention Donald Trump has twice effectively campaigned as a moderate.

It strikes me as an extremely large problem that when liberals see a Republican say moderate sounding things they recognize it as a lie and when liberals see Democrats say moderate sounding things they believe it to be truth incontrovertibly revealed.
