I have a deep aversion to local TV news, but now I am ON it because last year, the power company Arizona Public Service cut off electricity to my mother’s house outside of Phoenix, killing her.

An 82-year-old woman died in May 2024 after her power was cut off on a very hot day. Her son and an advocate say this shows an issue with state policies.

Are the people mad about punk bands punk banding the same people who didn't pay attention to RATM lyrics when they were teenagers?

I was coaxed out of Stage Manager retirement to work with these feral nerds of Tight & Nerdy for their sold out SF Sketchfest show.

I adore you for keeping burlesque weird, and it was a blast to be your Chaos Muppet wrangler.

I encourage trans and non-binary to contact me for work on a new film I’m shooting SF Bay in June- especially looking for line producers, production coordinators, and other film professionals!
alright you wanna know how to support trans people?

hire them. It's REALLY hard already for visibly trans people to get jobs, even before this shit.

Support places that have trans people working front of house, and make sure owners know that's part of why you're there.

That guilt you feel about not being able to support every GoFundMe for folks who are suffering?

That’s actually rage at a corrupt system refusing to support its people - a rage carefully steered away from the system so you struggle with yourself & not with the institutions that deserve it

"We should be kinder than the gods who eat us."

I finally got around to listening to the last four episodes of @thesiltverses.bsky.social

I ugly cried through the final episode, both with heartbreak and joy.

The writing and voice acting are sumptuous, grim, funny, and ultimately hopeful. Art.

I'm told this is the largest independently owned bookstore on the East Coast. Whether it is or not, the selection here is fantastic, and I spent an irresponsible amount of money here with no regrets.

In Rojava, multiethnic militias including anarchist volunteers from around the world did most of the fighting and dying in the struggle against the Islamic State. Now the international community is preparing to look away while they are massacred.

We must not let this happen. Solidarity with Rojava.

Although Assad has fallen, the tragedies in Syria continue. The Syrian National Army, a Turkish proxy force, has captured the city of Manbij and aims to storm Kobane next.

Turkey intends to conquer all Rojava and carry out ethnic cleansing there.

As in 2019, solidarity actions are urgently needed.
Call to Action: Solidarity with Rojava—Against the Turkish Invasion!
We are calling for people around the world to take action at Turkish consulates, US government offices, arms manufacturers, and elsewhere.

I was preparing to pitch an op-ed on the nationwide protests calling for President Yoon's resignation, aiming to provide global context amid the limited international coverage.

Given the urgency, I’m sharing it now. I didn’t expect events to escalate this quickly. #SouthKorea #Democracy

I liveskyed the 2024 Martial Law Declaration of Korea.

This is the thread.
According to Korean constitutional law, if martial law is declared in a state of non-war, the National Assembly can vote to make the president stand it down. The National Assembly is gathering now.

We are just now getting footage of inside the National Assembly.

“The Yoon administration, which has driven the rollback of gender equality and incited hatred against sexual minorities, has orchestrated its downfall by declaring martial law.”

Where will the social revolution of the twenty-first century, if it comes, if it is not already here, draw its poetry?" -Tiana Reid
