It’s not the inequity that Gaetz could never pass the background investigation for the lowest level professional at DOJ. It’s the reported conduct that poses risks, possibly grave, to the national security and also fundamental character issues. There must be a full-field background investigation.

to fix Govt are fine, if 1) they understand the purpose of the department, and 2) if they DON'T have agenda to allow private sector entities to thrive at the expense of services & protections to ALL Americans.

@cwebbonline.bsky.social nails it. I'm tired as long time political participant that we fixate on outliers and try to aggregate their impact --- focus on the majority and question their intent, and identify how to change that behavior.
Why are we holding all Latinos responsible for Trump when they’re only 13% of the electorate, and less than 50% of that group voted for him? White people are 70% of the electorate and vote for Trump more than 50% of the time.
