I'm glad the markets are recovering a bit on the news. But a trade war with China is still very bad. A 10% across the board tariff is still bad. Impending tariffs on medicines is still bad. The auto tariffs are still bad. The loss of trillions is still bad. Having a demented president is still bad.

This is the reach of authoritarian ideals. Our institutions are crumbling before us. We need to realize that we aren’t headed toward dangerous territory- we are in it already. Let them crumble. We can build better institutions out of the ashes.

I’ve down a quick search and I can’t find an organized Progressive Party to join. Is there one? It’s time to leave these old democrats behind. We will never win by being the party of compromise, reason and moderation.
