This is the only way this platform doesn't just become Nightmare Rectangle 2.0
Listen. I want joy on my feed. It's not that hard not to be a jerk when someone else is clearly enjoying the shit out of something.

Skeet about your sports. Your food. Your kids. Your pets. Some cool bug you found on a walk. The way the sky looks. Your latest video game obsession. Your fanfic.
The thing is that if you really believe they’re Nazis you can’t then say “but they don’t affect too much outside of politics right?”

Fun to realize how long I've mistaken an energy and mental health management problem for a time management problem.

Hi friends, from Twitter.

Been here a while, mostly lurking. I am 50/50 on whether bsky is going to be useable for me. Bsky is a more thoughtfully built Twitter in a lot of ways, but I'm not sure it's overcoming the two things that killed Twitter for me.

Barn gym.

Like, the nicest, well-equipped gym you can think of, in a barn. For me.
ok friends & Bsky strangers, tell me your FRIVOLOUS Powerball-winning acquisition goal

Mine: a Studebaker that I’d take to the body shop for an Electric Mayhem paint job

Another person just mentioned a Linotype machine

sure, housing security, debt payoff, but what’s your ridiculous niche desire?

Just gobsmacked that Apple shipped this on default, at the operating system level
Apple’s new video reactions are making therapy incredibly awkward
The reactions are new in iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma.

I don't think I've ever come across a task management system or app that starts from "you will never finish all the things" and increasingly I think that's what I want

It's nearly time for a new phone, been on an iPhone XS for the last five years. I'm considering switching to Android (variety of reasons, mainly sideloading), so was curious about the Pixel 8 dropping next week.

... but uh. Maybe not a Pixel.
PSA: Some Pixel owners still can't dial 911 during an emergency
Google Pixel phone owners have been reporting issues with 911 emergency calling, though these reports are separate from a previous bug.

Watching the one subreddit I care about migrate to a Discord server.

Sub has ~360k subscribers. Discord has ~60 people. Signal to noise on the sub has already tanked.

But I bet reddit admins' metrics look fine and dandy—you won't find the beating heart of a community querying your data warehouse.
