#ProtectMedicaid. Medicaid pays for almost 1 out of every 5 dollars spent on health care and is the main way states pay for people’s health insurance. Cuts to state funding will affect access to other programs that people with disabilities use for health-related social needs (HRSN). Logo of Medicaid.gov - Keeping American Healthy with graphic of arrow. What are Health-Related Social Needs (HRSN) and How Are They Funded? HRSNs is another term for the social drivers of health. These can have a major impact on quality of life and health outcomes overall. These can include access to: affordable and healthy food, safe housing with water, electricity, and heating, accessible and reliable transportation, and personal safety. HRSNs can be funded through state Medicaid programs and are considered “optional” - but these services are not optional for people with disabilities - they are essential. These are critical services for people with disabilities and will cause harm if cut. SNAP Cuts and Impacts on HCBS. The deep cuts to SNAP in the reconciliation bill would threaten even deeper cuts to HCBS services at a state level too. Since essential services like HCBS are deemed "Optional," they are at greater risk for further cuts when states are forced to balance their budgets. Legislators want to cut hundreds of billions of dollars in Medicaid funding - including over $300 billion for SNAP, nearly 30% of its funding. About 17% of people who benefit from SNAP are a part of the disability community. Over 7 million people with disabilities rely on SNAP and over 6 million people with disabilities rely on HCBS. Medicaid is a lifeline for people with disabilities. Cutting services that impact health-related social needs will be disastrous for the millions of people in the disability community. Tell legislators that cutting housing and food assistance supported by Medicaid will harm people with disabilities! Logo of the American Association on Health and Disability.

Too many people don't understand the full scope of what counts as eugenics: anything that creates a gap between who gets to survive and who dies off. Both campaigns to fuel favored birthrates and campaigns to kill other groups for race, disability, belief, etc.

This is a travesty & a nightmare. The US was a founder of @gavi.org. It lowers global vaccine costs, has vaccinated 1B children, & averted 19M deaths. This pull out will cost 100s of thousands of children's lives a year - and RFK Jr will be personally responsible.

Able-bodied people can claim all they want that they empathize with me being in a wheelchair, but I've never seen them as scared as I am right now, watching a spider crawl along my ceiling and then stop directly above me.

Republicans keep saying there’s fraud in Social Security. But there is really only one heinous fraud they actually help foster:

Forcing sick people to fight the draconian SSA disability regulations for years causing folks to lose their life savings and homes.

DOGE claimed that 40% of all calls to Social Security to change direct deposit info were fraudulent, but their own fraud-detection system found the real number only a tiny fraction of 1% of these calls to be even suspicious. Processing time is u 25% though.
DOGE went looking for phone fraud at SSA — and found almost none
Since SSA installed new anti-fraud checks on claims made over the phone, only two claims out of over 110,000 were found to likely be fraudulent, according to internal documents obtained by Nextgov/FCW...
