My partner Sabi is disabled 24/7 caretaker for elderly mom & ESA bun. They're a disabled Indigenous Latina family, homeless after eviction. Nothing is coming in to keep them sheltered. Please help!

Hello everyone, an update as my family is struggling I can barely help Sabi. The numbers she gave me yesterday were incorrect. Weekly Hotel $650 Due Tuesdays 11 AM ET $15 late fee accrues daily Nov 9th - Present unpaid It's getting very incredibly difficult for Sabi to even keep track of everything while severely dissociating. The hotel just tells her the total due and while she's paying a bit at a time it's keeping eviction at bay but who knows for how long.

For the caretaker, it means one moment it feels safe to place attention elsewhere and the next danger, literally. This results in a constant feeling of dread, made all the harder without help. It means even so much as not having adequate rest, nor the ability to safely process & grieve.

There's not much awareness of what it means to be caretaker for an elder w/ dementia, let alone that having dementia means continually reliving trauma, loss & fear thru each moment.

Bodies may be frail, but memories are experienced as if they were but moments ago, while not knowing those alive […]
