Frosty the Snowman is a metaphor for a deadbeat dad. He shows up once a year unnaturally jolly, wearing really shabby clothes from the wrong decade. He shows the kids the times of their lives and then disappears for no reason and breaks their hearts. Every time, promising he'll be back "someday."
