I don't really care what the "political consequences" are of fighting for the proposition that *everyone* is entitled to due process before they are removed from the United States and sent to a Salvadoran prison.

It's not really a principle if you only adhere to it when it's politically expedient.

Trump Tariffs Hit Antarctic Islands Inhabited by Zero Humans and Many Penguins
The Heard and McDonald Islands are among the dozens of targets of President Donald Trump's latest round of tariffs. But they have no exports, because no one lives there.

Kelly is a former US Navy pilot and Astronaut. Elon just called him a "traitor" for posting about his trip to Ukraine and his view we should help them defend freedom.

The way one thing after another had to happen in order for us to be where we are. Could have gone the other way so easily as Jill Lawrence explains...
The U.S. will be a superpower emeritus when Trump and Musk are done looting it. Three what-ifs that led to Citizens United and an America in existential crisis. Plus @tiffanymuller.bsky.social on how to fix it, if we can. My latest @thebulwark.bsky.social. www.thebulwark.com/p/the-road-f...
The Road from ‘Citizens United’ to Trump, Musk, and Corruption
A ‘naïve’ Supreme Court delivered lawless greed and cruelty. We’ll have to save ourselves, if we can.

If the US had continued to support Ukraine, we may have been months away from the end of the war. The Russians would not have been able to continue to fight for much longer. They were making almost no progress, taking huge casualties.

reason given: “one of the speakers allowed himself, out of provocation, a gesture referring to nazi ideology.”

It has been confirmed: God will not be removing references in the Bible to every people, tribe, language, and nation. Furthermore, the Holy Spirit will continue supporting traditional Black and Hispanic churches, and others.

If Tiktok goes bye-bye tonight, I better binge on some shark videos.

China probably has some AI shark-booping weapon ready for me, but I can't help myself.

A few friends of mine expected Democrats to cause riots in major cities after the election and attempt to block the election results.

The orderly process today was the best rebuttal the Democrats could have chosen. It's also a hopeful sign for us all in the long-term. Well done.

Public and political evangelicals seem to associate all forms of "Feminism" with transgender issues, and any other efforts to blur gender differences. Women leading or speaking in church have also been associated with such intentions.

Many forms of feminism, however, are about basic fairness. 1/3

The movie Diehard was declared a Christmas movie at the Council of Trent in 1563. John Calvin tweeted during the Council that the Reformation never disputed this and that Luther regularly quoted John McClane.

Hey church peeps!

Ahithopel was King David's closest advisor who turned against David and even offered to lead a force to kill David.

Crazy betrayal, right?

Ahithopel was also Bathsheba's grandfather.

Biblical genealogies aren't totally boring. :)

Hang in there. Some days you'll do everything perfectly, and you'll be moving as quickly as physically possible, and someone will still honk at you.

My wife informs me this is not a good reason to chase them down.

How people who made zillions on innovation couldn't see the huge desire for a platform that provided what Twitter provided, is a bit mindboggling to me.
I'm reading that Mark Zuckerberg is genuinely spooked by the rapid growth of Bluesky. Sounds pretty good.

I purchased Fresh Cauliflower Florets at the grocery store today. The florets were getting black spots already, but cauliflower does that, they were small, and I ate them anyway. Then I noticed the spots looked more like seasoning. Then I magnified the spots with my phone.

At least they were dead.
