the US revolution was not a revolt against colonization but instead the (seemingly) permanent cementing of the colonial project. It's not like India or Ireland breaking free from the UK, it's like if the British colonists in India broke free from the UK's control.

White supremacy explains a lot of apparent contradictions. The GOP was for states’ rights when the politics supported white supremacy. When they can accomplish white supremacist goals with federal power, they are against states’ rights.
Republicans control the White House and Congress. More federal power means more opportunities for them to impose MAGA’s will on the rest of America, and so of course they’ve learned to live with—and even prefer—centralizing authority. ICYMI @citizencohn.bsky.social:
How Trump Killed the GOP’s Love of States’ Rights
From immigration to education to Medicaid, the new strategy is to impose a MAGA vision on America—whether or not states like it.

**imo** all conversations around the liberation of trans healthcare should also be part of a larger framework asking: how we can achieve greater healthcare autonomy for all people whose needs are not being met by our current medical system?

I was talking about this with my students yesterday—throughout Western Europe, Nazism is treated in public spaces and memorials as a nightmare, as horror that must never be repeated.

If slavery and Jim Crow received the same commemoration in the US, we'd be a very different country.
Buffoonery aside, I think a lot of Americans can't process that multiple generations of Germans renounce and revile past actions rather than treat them as an aspect of of their culture that must be maintained.
MERZ: Tomorrow is the D Day anniversary, when the Americans ended a war in Europe

TRUMP: That was not a pleasant day for you? This is not a great day

MERZ: This was the liberation of my country from Nazi dictatorship

They want to track autism, miscarriages, abortion, birth control use but don’t want to track measles, bird flu, Covid or salmonella.

Ask yourselves why that is. They’re setting the stage to blame people for their disabilities. To slate them for elimination.

It’s eugenics & it’s escalating.
The fact that they’re tracking autism and not the bird flu automatically tells you they’re operating on eugenics and not actually wanting people to be healthy. They want you sick, disabled, or dead.

The important thing to understand about the Trump administration is that it is always lying. It isn't simply indifferent to the truth; it has contempt for it and for those who tell it. This must be broadly understood.

In light of everything happening, I wrote about how the KKK in the 1920s felt unstoppable, about the people that fought against them anyway, and about how fascism always fails. dansinker.com/posts/202…
