Would I like to be in place and time where I can be loud about the aroace and agender aspects of myself? Where I can go to events and find in-person community? Would I have preferred to have a cool ace project to share this week? Oh, yeah. But I'm going to forgive myself for not being further along.

I'm so grateful I've gotten to this point in my life where I can consistently feel at home in my existence as an aroace agender person. I'm proud of the work I've put in to make my life affirming in what little ways I can.

But pride is really about how I see myself. And while plenty of that work is in everyone's view and can be big and exciting, the vast majority of it is private and reflective work.

It's like a wound healing; it's internal work that takes time, patience, and occasionally, a little help from others.

Take all the time you need; news like that is a huge adjustment at the very least.
