I care less about Signal chats and more about the blacksite offshore concentration camps we're sending random people to without any semblance of a trial, so I'll be interested to see if the national media can rub their bellies and pat their heads at the same time this week. Historically they can't.

“Why didn’t Kamala go on Rogan?” they all screeched in op-eds and tweets, for months on end.

Maybe, just maybe, because Rogan, in the tank for the GOP, made it near impossible for her to come on?

A new book by Jonathan Allen of NBC News and Amie Parnes of The Hill has details about the Harris campaign's botched attempt to schedule an interview with Joe Rogan.

J.D. Vance uses DEI to cover for a potentially white male pilot being at fault: "When you don't have the best standards in who you're hiring, it means, on the one hand, you're not getting the best people in government, but on the other hand, it puts stresses on the people who are already there."
Hesgeth and Vance use the Washington D.C. airliner-helicopter crash to make anti-diversity, equity and inclusion points, suggesting it was to blame for the collision.

The Vice President didn't even open his remarks by referencing the victims or families - just straight into anti-DEI points.

lol trying to bully the entire country into something they don't want to do is going to backfire. We're already seeing it backfire in the federal workforce. The more people they piss off, the more enemies they make.

Something is about to break.

Black Lives Matter fundamentally broke these people’s brains. They couldn’t bear the idea that they might have to tell a different story about this country and thus tell a different story about themselves. They hated it, and now they are using everything they have to never feel that way again.

I cannot stress enough how important private funding will be for underrepresented (UR) scientists for the next 4 years. NSF and NIH fund summer research opportunities for UR undergrad students in STEM, mentoring programs starting in high school, funds for UR PhD students, & more.

University leaders must actively and very publicly make the case for the kind of work many of us do. The silence on this front is deafening.
