American oil companies were drilling the shit out of Venezuela, then Venezuela officially nationalized its oil industry on January 1st, 1976. Most affected were American subsidiaries such as Exxon Corp, the Gulf Oil Corp, Mobil Oil Corporations which had at the time invested more than $5 billion.
In 2007, the Venezuelan government expropriated the assets of foreign oil companies that declined to restructure their holdings to grant PDVSA majority control. Notably, ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips resisted these terms, leading to the seizure of their assets.

Living through over 70yrs Repub moral and economic bankruptcy, at least it was explicable. You knew a Dem would then come along and clean up the mess. Now, the entire Repub universe is inexplicable. Greed and moral decay is off the charts. We can’t erase it. it’s now who we are.

I need to give a shout out to the employees at Social Security. I made a mistake on my paperwork for Medicare and they called me 2x to let me know and how to fix it. This person is not being paid and still went above and beyond. in spite of DOGE and Repub Congress
