Horrifying reports abound about sexual violence, including the mass rapes of children. In an act of genocide, RSF rebels are said to taunt minority group women in Darfur that they will be forced to bear Arab children. Few around the world pay attention.

Remember, kids - every time you hurt a Jew, a little bit of Palestine gets freed!
More globalising of the intifada.

Today in 1880 is the birthday of Harry Laughlin, an American eugenicist who claimed Jews were born feeble-minded and whose work led to U.S. immigration quotas and forced sterilizations, inspiring the Nazis. Laughlin died childless.
"Shame," he once reflected. "'Cause my kids would be really smart."

There’s not been much noise about it, but we do know Homicide: Life on The Street is up on Sky in its entirety, right?

I just read the sentence ‘there was a graffito on the wall’, and now I need to find another book.

And just as I’m about to read in bed, I see this.
Word of the day is ‘librocubicularist’: one who loves nothing better than reading in bed.

(Not easy to say, but I’m glad to know it exists).

Bedtime. I may be awake for a few hours yet.

Is it wrong that I’m still doing this?
My word of the day (and personal recommendation) is ‘snerdling’ (18th century): nestling cosily beneath the covers and holding off the day a little longer.

Morning.

I thought I'd nip back here now that everyone's joining, and they're right - it does seem nicer than the other place. Most importantly, a quick peek hasn't shown me a single news story and that feels like A Very Good Thing right now.

Been waiting for an Evri delivery that I stupidly expected to arrive between 7 and 9 like they said. Just got an email saying they couldn't deliver and there was no safe space to leave it (obviously there is, and they didn't), and what is wrong with me that I thought it would be any other way?

Been in our new place since July, but finding that the backboard behind the oven (with gas hob) is made of wood - WOOD - meaning supplier rightly won't install new oven in its place 🚒🔥🧯 is the most ridiculous. So far.

Not been on here in a while, and I'm finding it odd to be on a social media site and not to be immediately hit with a load of Jew hate (not directed at me, you understand; just there ... open and obvious). I rather like it. I think I'll stay awhile.

It's nice here and stuff, but for instantly induced rage, disgust, and a loss of faith in humanity, you really can't beat Twitter (or whatever it's called).

I have just been to the Knitting and Stitching show and I'm not even embarrassed to tell you. This seems to be who I am now.

My feed is full of cats today, and if you can't beat 'em, here's mine not impressed at having to be on a lead.

Currently opening boxes of books to put on new shelves, and finding the habit I developed before we moved of getting rid of loads of them is still present. I am going to have SPACE on my bookshelves. And we all know what that means ...

You know how you don’t notice the things you live with on a daily basis - this is what the cat has done to our bed.

There is a mouse in our house. There is also a cat.

Let the games begin.

This has cheered me up today, like nothing else I can think of would. Here it is, if you need some joy. And who doesn't?
