Attorney, naturalist, and proponent of global care ethics and egalitarianism.
I find it hard to believe that someone who now possesses the entire nation’s personal and financial data (aka the keys to the kingdom) would care in the slightest about threats to cancel his federal contracts and subsidies.

Imagine if Joe Biden, newly in office, had launched a company with Hunter Biden and used his social media to recruit financial backers.

Then promised the most generous among them would earn an invitation to a private dinner with him ... Trump just did that.
Trump Just Did the Most Corrupt Thing Any President Has Ever Done
He’s using the White House to get rich from anonymous investors—and it’s hardly even a news story.

OMG. I was wondering that as the tariff numbers made no sense, but this is even dumber than I thought. I mean, this is "fail your econ 101 class and have to go meet with the professor" bad.
james surowiecki has discovered where the completely fabricated trump tariff rate has come from for each country

"...for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us."

Voice of America is silent.

I remember in the Cold War when the Soviet Union wanted nothing more than to silence the Voice of America.

Today's the day it happened.
Statement from the director of the Voice of America (who has been placed on administrative leave).

This is a very, very big deal.
The House just voted that “each day for the remainder of the 119th Congress shall not constitute a calendar day for purposes of section 202 of the National Emergencies Act.” A day is not a day. Lewis Carroll, George Orwell, and Franz Kafka must all be chuckling — or weeping.

Oh, look what normal countries do when a former president leads a far right coup attempt.

We have been careful to avoid using the word coup, but it’s time to call it what it is—this is a coup. Trump signed an executive order granting only the attorney general or the president the authority to interpret laws executed by the executive branch.

This is leadership.

It’s also unprecedented.

This is absolutely insane. Musk’s DOGE crew just straight up *took* $80 million from an NYC bank account!
Okay what is going on here. Are the accounts at a private banking entity? Does the federal government have direct debit permission set up? So many questions as to how Treasury instructed this payment. (Via NY Post’s Craig McCarthy)
